August Research is looking for a Contracts Manager to lead the contract negotiation process with clinical trial sponsors and sites.

The ideal candidate will have minimum of three years of experience in clinical trial setting and/or pharmaceutical industry and have excellent English communication and organizational skills.

Prior supervisory experience demonstrating leadership expertise is required. Must have two or more years of experience negotiating investigator contracts. Knowledge of FDA regulations as they relate to research is a plus. Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access. Attention to detail is required in a highly regulated industry. Ability to work independently, and be a pro-active team player is required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to proof-read and detect errors in typing, spelling, grammar, syntax and punctuation is required. Medical terminology is preferred.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to oversee projects, review, evaluate, and define set plans to achieve business goals.
  • Problem solve at a strategic level, working with others to reach a resolution.
  • Accurately plan to achieve timely results.
  • Oversee and assist in negotiation of investigator contracts on a global level.
  • Set reasonable targets for team.
  • Conduct the financial and contract negotiations at the appropriate management level.
  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing and payment schedule, ensuring that the agreements with investigative sites are aligned with clients’ interests.
  • Manages and resolves issues between clients and team.
  • Solves problems at the protocol level.
  • Direct activities of Contracts Analysts and Project Associate Teams. This will include:
    • Lead team to ensure goals and objectives are met or exceeded.
    • Responsible for obtaining desired results from team.
    • Ensure internal policies and procedures are followed by staff.
    • Implement performance action plans as well as handle personnel issues, including disciplinary activities.

Related duties/responsibilities:

  • Maintain updated information of all study related information to use as reference in daily duties.
  • Stay abreast of changes in studies and/or updates to client preferences.
  • Other duties as required and assigned by designated team lead. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
